Intel product roadmap leaked: Raptor Lake Refresh will be launched in Q3 next year

There have been rumors that Intel will not launch Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake next year, but will release Raptoer Lake Refresh. The good news is that the new processor will still be called the 13th generation Core. Judging from the latest revelations, this rumor is true.

Twitter user @9550pro broke a lot of information, including Core i9-13900KS, Sapphire Rapids workstation CPU specifications, and circuit diagrams for consumer and workstation platform motherboards. First of all, it is naturally the Core i9-13900KS that everyone is more concerned about. In terms of hardware specifications, it is the same as the Core i9-13900K, 8P+16E, 24 cores, and 32 threads. Among them, the frequency of E-Core is the same as that of Core i9-13900K, the base frequency is 2.2GHz, and the turbo maximum frequency is 4.3GHz. The base frequency of the P-Core is increased from 3.0GHz to 3.2GHz, and the maximum frequency is increased from 5.8GHz to 6GHz. It is the first processor to reach 6GHz.

The total L2 cache capacity of Core i9-13900KS is 32MB, and the shared L3 cache capacity is 36MB. PL1 has increased from 125W to 150W, and PL2 has remained unchanged at 253W. It is expected to be available in early 2023, priced at $799.

Next is the Sapphire Rapids Xeon W workstation processor, including the Xeon W-2400 and Xeon W-3400 series. The obvious difference between the two is that the Xeon W-2400 only supports up to 4-channel DDR5 memory and provides 64 PCI-E channels. The Xeon W-3400 can support 8-channel DDR5 memory, providing 112 PCI-E channels. In addition, the number of cores and specific models of the two are different. At present, the Xeon W-3400 must be packaged in MCM, while the Xeon W-2400 will have a single Die product.

The highest-end model of Xeon W-2400 is w7-2495X, with 24 cores and 48 threads, shared 45MB L3 cache, PL1 power of 225W, processor base frequency of 2.5GHz, and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.8GHz.

The highest-end model of Xeon W-3400 is w9-3495X, which has 56 cores and 112 threads, a total of 105MB L3 cache, PL1 power of 350W, a processor base frequency of 1.9GHz, and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.8GHz.

Xeon W-3400/2400 series processors need to be used with W790 motherboards. Judging from the product roadmap, they will be released at the beginning of the first quarter of next year, with a high probability of being released at CES 2023.

Intel will also update the Raptor Lake-S series CPU in the second half of 2023, still using the Intel 7 process. However, a small amount of optimization will be carried out, which is basically a higher frequency. The specifics will not be known until then, and the existing LGA 1700 motherboards can all support it.
